Sandstorm

I wasn't too sure which beach we are going, it's not like we have that many in this area. I though it would be either Ocean City or Virginia Beach, but I was wrong. It was Dewey Beach in Delaware.

We arrived there pretty late, and I was dead tired, so I was the first to hit the bed. Alan and Steve wanted to go out and they did. Of course I had to get the mandatory "bitching" from Steve, how I was not being a comrade by not going out. But I was too tired to cave in. I don't know why people feel that they can't go out alone. Granted going out with friends is much more fun, but I could go out solo without much hesitation. Actually depending, I rather go out solo. Well I'm weird that way. So I took a nightcap from the bottle of whiskey we brought, and slept, while Alan and Steve went out.

Next day, I was the first one to wake up, go check outside, and the weather was dismal. It had rained, and it was cloudy. I check the TV for local weather forecast and it say the area is under thunderstorms and flash flood watch for the whole weekend. Sigh.

Ok so I have a early morning cap, to get things started and wait for the lazy bums to wake up. And wait... I take a late morning cap, and wait. They wake up, we go have lunch and head to the beach. Sun is not where to be found. I read a couple of magazine, chat, blah blah. It was chill down time. But we were being pelted by sand grains. It was a major sandstorm. It started to hurt so we left. We went back to the hotel and rest a bit, watch some TV. Ok I have a late afternoon cap, and back to watching TV. I take a shower and get ready to go out. Now I'm on my mid evening cap. We went to this bar where there was no cover and they were even giving a complimentary Bud Light. Hahah, when does that ever happen in DC or NYC? I like the music but the bar never really filled up. I guess the music was too euroish, while those american bar were PACKED. So I try to get a vodka redbull, but they don't have vodka redbull, so I order a vodka gimlet instead. I guess this bartender doesn't know what is vodka gimlet, because he gave me a tall glass of pure vodka, with maybe 2 drops of lemon juice. I knew right then that when I'm done with that drink, the night would be a blank, and it was to some extent. I kinda remember trying out an adjacent club/bar, and then getting soaked because of sudden down pour. Then I was in a "splash rainwater fight" with two girls. Steve says he spotted us and decided to join the fun. We were all soaked. Next day I had no shoes to wear...

It wasn't much of a beach weekend but it was fun to be able to chill down.

Well I need to start packing for my trip so, behave kids.
