Being the last insomaniac of the 3 (Dana, Misha and Me), I started to play around with Google Earth. Google Earth was released two days ago, and unlike the satellite maps from maps.google.com this is a standalone software you download and must be installed on the computer. It also requires 3D card since it shows 3D objects on the terrain and buildings. This is similar to Nasa World Wind program, but better.
I was about to post a big thing about Google's acquisition of Keyhole and content information monopoly, etc... But I thought it would sound too boring.
Yes I didn't sleep again. I just can't sleep. Every night my attempt to sleep is futile.
Another thing that I came to realized today is, I think I have a hearing problem. I'm not saying I'm deaf, but people usualy have to speak a tad louder than usual. Even in a restaurant which is not as loud as a bar I have problems hearing what other are telling me.
I always thought, well its just that the ambient noise is too loud, so it's normal. A good way to know if its you, is when you know you speak too loud. Well ok, then I remembered once in Dragonfly when talking to Lenisa, she covered her ear. Then I remember someone else did the same thing. Twice? Also you will hear me constantly saying; "What?", "I couldn't hear a word you said.", "Can you repeat that?", or sometimes I just completely hear something else.
At dinner I talked about this with my friends, they said I do tend to "yell" when there is some ambient noise. You would think, you might raise your voice, but I "yell".
This makes me wonder how many times someone might have said something and I replied them with something completely not related to the original subject. People might think I'm nuts or dumb.
I will have this checked in Brazil.
I'm still working on minor details at my photosite, I changed it to white, but I thought the bright light from white background would hurt the eyes, to a reverted it back to black. Though, white has a much cleaner/minimalist feel. I changed the fonts for the photo caption and information. There is a scroll bar for that information now. I will also be creating a favicon for the site. Favicon are those little icon besides the url in the url box of the webbrowser or along with with the bookmark/favorites. Just like the one I have for my blog.
Behave kids.
Dana's place.
Misha's place.
My place.
Mystery person. :P
My old school in Rio. You can see terrain elavation.
White House with tilt and 3d buildings on.
Jockey club of Rio. As you see, the 3D on the terrain.

I don't think that you yell when you speak. Maybe you talk a little louder than most of us because it seems that Brazilians are quite loud when they speak. I haven't had any difficultty in communicating with you or you having to ask me again to repeat myself. Maybe the deafness comes from too many hours spent in close proximity to large, loud speakers in various clubs since your childhood?
I never noticed it either . . . but I always cover my ear with that little tab on my earlobe so the person can yell as loud as they want as close as they want and it doesn't hurt. I do that with everyone though . . .
The pictures are wild. I don't have enough room on my pc, so I am dumping all my photos to my mac so I can download it too!
