Work Monday was hectic, to a point that I didn't even notice that I was past my schedule time. My coworker even had to mention that I was done for today, to check the watch.
Talked to my boss about this portfolio thing, and he explained to me what it was. I need to take some pictures and set up a portfolio. He knows I'm not a pro, but then again if we go through with this, we will be dealing with amateur models, so it kind of works out. Professional photographers only wants to work with professional models, and charges an arm and leg for photo shoots. Since this "venture" will be a side thing, we can't afford to spend too much money, need to cut all the costs possible.
I'm still waiting for him to send me some links so I have a better idea of how to set up a web based photo portfolio. Plus I need to talk to Pedro to get tips on improving photography techniques, like a crash course, since he is a professional and all.
My boss said we might have to drive to NYC one of these days to do an informal photo shoot with the models, which I would also use the photos from that photo shoot for my own portfolio.
So basically I'm going to have to start taking my hobby somewhat more seriously, and also refine my Photoshop skills. Equipment wise I'm fine. No picture will ever need to be over 5 megapixels, unless I need to print posters. Then I could borrow my brother's camera, I think. His Nikon is 8 megapixels and can record in RAW format. Then, depending how it goes, and if we make some money, I could upgrade my equipment to something more "pro-ish".
Dana will be coming two weeks from now, I don't know how that will work out since I will be carless. I basically can't dish out $1000 car repairs. I will have to wait for tax refund to do that, and I don't know when I'm getting it. Maybe I will have to borrow my brother car, but I doubt that will happen.
Anyways, gym, shower and work.
Behave kids.
PS: I can finally comment on other blogs.
