The weekend was really good. Celebrated my birthday on Friday, and Saturday was Georgetown Homecoming weekend.
First night being my birthday and all I went a little overboard and spend quite sometime hugging the ceramic fairy.
The worst thing is when you wake up and you don't have a hangover, but you are still drunk... But it's ok, because work will be only at 1PM. Wait, did I say no problem? Well actually there was a problem. See, the night before I had left my jacket and my car keys in Carlos car. Spend the whole morning/afternoon calling him, but it would to straight to his voicemail. So I call in, and tell my boss that I'll be late because I'm stuck in DC.
Me and Misha goes out for Pizza, he wanted to try out this new place he saw while jogging. The pizza looks good, but doesn't taste that good. Misha only ate half the slice, and well, me, starving and all, ate the whole slice, but maybe I shouldn't have done that.
Get back to Mikhail, and spend some more quality time again, hugging the ceramic fairy.
Call Carlos, still the same situation.
JC and Marvin should been here for Georgetown Homecoming, and we are supposed to meet them at Peacock Cafe for lunch. We get there, but no sign of them. Misha call JC and "they are not in DC, but there are some people for Misha to meet inside?". Just want to say, CRACK KILLS. But they were joking, they got there in like 5 minutes.
So we have a good lunch and start reminiscing about the "days". I don't know what's up with JC, but he kept buying us shots of kamikaze. At first I was like, what? It's only 3PM. FINE, chug one, and I'm done, but no. JC order the second, third, and the fourth round.
We get back to Misha, and Marvin and JC crash, they were tired from their "adventure/ordeal" ealier in the morning, trying to get from NYC to DC.
Call Carlos again, same deal. My boss calls in, I tell him that probably I won't be able to go to work, because well, I can't get to my car. And the whole night/day it's been parked on "no parking" area. I got lucky though, it didn't get towed.
Marvin and JC wake up, we order some food from Wisey's, the traditional staple food from Georgetown, THE chicken madness!
After we eat we call Carlos, because eventually we would meet to go out anyways. So he would be dropping by later to hit the bar/clubs for the homecoming.
I start to drink a couple of real Sake, that Ellie had brought for Misha from Japan. It's so nice. None of the alcohol aftertaste. Of course because I didn't want a date with the ceramic fairy, I drink light, while, well, my comrades were doing whiskey and vodka.
Carlos shows up with Brenda, and we go to 3rd Edition, supposedly to meet some girls that JC knows. To my surprise one of the girls I already knew. No from Georgetown crowd, but from GU. She is a good friend of my brother, and she was also in the "Me, Zeca, Richie-Brazilian" crowd from back in the days.
Carlos buys a round of beer, then Misha does the same. Completely quit drinking? Quite hard don't you think? hehe But I was drinking responsibly.
The place was packed, but it was expected. Our area turned into a wet zone, because Brenda dropped her bottle, smashing on the floor, and then Misha does a dejavu.
The place was not my style, but it was quite entertaining. Maybe different scenery once in a while is good. They play thriller song and me and Brenda do the slow thriller move. hahah
I don't know, but it was just fun, for once I could hear what other were saying and talk, joke, laugh, etc...
I haven't laughed this much in a long while.
So we decided to go someplace else, because well 3rd Edition is "gringo", and our group is not much into that.
So step outside and try to figure out where we would be going. We are still joking outside, the joke was 2 more years before I hit my middle age crisis. hehe. I guess for older people, that is funny when they hear that from the "younger" people. I hear a laugh behind me but I don't really pay attention. Light up a cigarette, and this woman behind me ask for light. I'll refrain from calling her "girl" because she was probably like 35-6. I flick the lighter, while she is trying to ignite her cigarette she grabs my hand and start to squeeze it... She says "Oh your hands are so warm and nice". And I'm thinking, well its freezing outside, and if she wasn't wearing the skimpy clothes she had on, she might not be freezing. Then the "obligatory" small talk. I just moved here from Florida, yada yada, etc... Of course I don't remember how her face looks like, because my eyes were staring two notches down. But hey, I'm a guy and if a woman has a good rack and is wearing skimpy clothes I WILL look. I'm flesh and bones.
Paula asks me who she was, and I reply to her; "She is a vagabunda" I mean, at the point I could be right, skimpy clothes although its freezing?
So I tell her I have to go, because I'm leaving with my friends, I tell her it was a pleasure meeting her, and I turn around , but she grabs my arm, and give her business card, and tells me "Call me tomorrow, let's have lunch." I say "sure, well will be going to 18th St area". Well she is definitely not a vagabunda, she deals with real state and loans, or so says her business card. Anyways, but of course I'm not going to call her for lunch, it just too random/weird for me. Plus I don't remember her face.
So we decided to meet at Misha for drinks. Misha goes with Marvin, JC, Paula, Adriana and Felipe. I go on the other car with Carlos and Brenda. On the way to the car, Brenda has this great idea to get pizza. So we stop at this pizzeria, and order 3 slices, I guess not matter what kind of pizza you ask it will ALWAYS be "Supreme". I'm pretty sure each of use asked different type, yet all there were "Supreme". Brenda did the honors and requested the pizza was on her. I don't know if it's because we were starving, or the pizza was actually good. I had reservations before, because of the incident ealier in the day with another pizzeria, but this one was good.
We meet everyone at Misha's place, and we talk, and talk a lot. Jokes, laugh, etc...
It was a good night overall, there were some tension at the end, but tomorrow, er today will be ok.
Behave kids.
PS:Dana don't worry about the birthday thing, it's ok. Missed you this homecoming. :(
