Right after I got home from work, I got a call from Lenisa. She asked if I wanted to come over to watch the fireworks. Earlier at work I was thinking on taking photos of the fireworks. So I took a quick shower, dressed to meet up with her at the Dupont Circle metro station.
Well as usual the most of the streets were blocked and a lot of traffic. I finally manage to get there, but after many delays. At that point I felt bad, because she could have just taken a bus home, but I said I would pick her up the metro station.
Once I get there, I can't find her. I'm standing right at the Dupont Circle metro station, but no sign of Lenisa. So I look around in the circle itself. There were some street performers there, so I thought she could be watching that while she waited. I look around, and still no sign of Lenisa. I look the adjacent streets. Still nothing. So I thought, well it must be the other Dupont Circle metro exit, which is not at Dupont Circle, but like 2 blocks away from it. I go there, and voila.
Driving to the mall at that time would be just stupid, the traffice and parking would be insane. So she said a friend had told her that there was a spot to watch the fireworks from the Wisconsin cathedral. Yeah finding parking there was ridiculous too. I could hear the fireworks from distance, which means that Lenisa was missing her first DC/July 4th/fireworks experience. Manage to find parking, then we head to the spot, which was ok I guess, but too small to pull out the tripod and camera for any photos.
Went to Lenisa's afterwards and we chatted till pretty late. Lenisa, thanks for everything.
