How to deal with authority that thinks knows it all?

What a poor job keeping blogs updated. But the matter of fact is, I'm just too busy with work. Not that I work long hours or anything, is just that the work itself is stressful, and gets me drained.

Once I get home I try to chill for a little bit, and actually rest and get my mind of things. It would be nice if it was summer, because then I could use the building spa, just like last summer when Steve was here.

The stupidity of the management is a headache for us. One thinks she is a god sent to the company. Numerous time I have to overide rules from our department, because she is the boss of my immediate boss. That is fine, because that is stuff between management, however, she thinks that I'm being unhelpful, just because I'm FOLLOWING our department rules. Our department has goals to meet, and everytime the other management asks us to deal with it, we take the loss, which I feel bad for my boss, because he has to push the department to meet goals. Each day I sense my boss is growing more and more frustrated with his job, and I can see why. I'm sure he is about to quit as soon as the opportunity arises. Not only him, but many in our are frustrated, or so I think. A co-worker is going through interviews with a couple of possible recruiters. If everything goes well, he is out.

Right now we are very understaffed. I keep doing work that I'm not supposed to do because other department lacks staff. Yet one of my manager says "It's life". Well let me tell one thing then; It's the fucking management's responsibility to keep the place staffed! I should have told her it was her was problem, not mine. She is the one getting paid big bucks, not me. I don't know how the fuck she can be so apathetic towards me, when regarding lack of staffing. Does ANY staff members from other department ever does ANY kind of work, even to help out, on our department? NO, NEVER! Even when we are understaffed ourselves.

I swear, our deparment get's the most shit from all other departments, we have to help out ALL other departments. Mainly, because people from other department are stupid. I don't know how so many people uneducated about technolgy can actually work on a technology retailer. They don't know what the fuck they are trying to sell, be it to regular retail customers or corporate customers. Everything and is everyone is sent to the tech department for us to give free Computer 101 class, while we have to do our own damn job. I mean how the fuck they hire someone to sell technology, yet they come to me and ask what the fuck is an USB? Jesus even my tech impaired friends know what is an USB. So basically we do other department's partial work one every fucking sale they try to do, while we try to do our damn tech related work. Also they grew lazy about actually doing some research. Granted I don't know everything there is to know about technology, so I don't expect others know everything as well. But these people just tell the customer to come to us for any kind of question. Hello motherfucker, I have my own work to do? And of course, if they make the sale, after I have given the customer a Product/technology 101 class, they get the sales comission. I would care less about the comission, but I do care, working THEIR job, because they are stupid, and them making the gain on work I did. Like fuck, I get called to explain a product to a customer, the question was "Does this work with Windows 98?" Customer is a paying customer, so I ain't gonna bitch about their stupidity, but the fucking sales people making me answer that kind of question is just too fucking retarded. If the customer is too stupid to not read the side of the box, then READ it for them! You don't have to call me to read the box for the customer, you sales people can do it yourselves. This is not a reason to call a "tech" person, because it states right on the box with which operating system is compatible with. JUST READ IT! All this frivolous bullshit I have to do everyday for lazy ass retarded sales people. What? Are they so retarded they can't read the side of the damn box, and they must CALL me from tech department? Jesus I have work to do. I swear, a very couple of sales people actually knows what they sell or attempt to solve the problem themselves, while the majority only knows how to say "Ask someone at the tech shop." I guess they don't see the difference between "SALES" and "TECH".

So I got bitched by two managers today. God, she said I'm unhelpful. Ok so her staff bullshit about products or warranty just so they can get to sell and make their comission and meet their goals. Like let's take warranties for example. They tell the customer if they buy our warranty, it will cover any kind of damage, they can toss it off a bridge, and they will get a new laptop. Sales people know that is not true, we don't replace the laptop nor will service if it's tossed of the bridge. Yet they keep saying that and adding a bunch of imaginary perks as benefits for buying the warranty. And who has to enforce warranty guidelines set forth by the company? Yes, us at the tech department. So I have to explain the customer that no, it's not covered. I get bitched by the customer due to sales people bullshit, then with this new sales manager, I get bitched by her for not being helpful to the customer. Just because I followed company rules. The previous manager, would overide company policies to help the customer as well, but he knew that I can only help the customer if the a manager tells me to override a company policy. So he never though of me as being unhelpful but actually just following the rules. Now this new sales manager... I'm the most customer friendly/helping person in the tech department, sometimes even my boss bitches that I help too much. So if the sales manager thinks I'm unhelpful, well she should take over the company and change the rules? I mean she thinks she is a GOD sent.

Then the general manager told me that if I have a problem with his decisions, to come to his office and talk to him. My co worker asked him, if he was being honest or sarcastic, which he replied a bit of both. I immediately asked him what decision did I disagree. He said, it was in "general". Ok IF there is a problem, act like a fucking GENERAL MANAGER and let me know, don't fucking play charades with me. My bet is that is this stupid policy he set forth, but, if he thinks I'm the only one that thinks it's stupid, well he is wrong, ALL managers under him thinks the memory module policy he set forth is stupid. I guess I'm the only one more vocal about, but if that is the case, tell me so I can DISCUSS with him, as he requested.

Anyways, this only motivates me to actually do my freaking resume and give 2 weeks notice soon.

A lot of people will be jump boats soon anyways.

Tomorrow I will have to work till 10PM, sigh. And its going to be HECTIC.
