Yes we care so much about our staff that we are holding our last year's Christmas party February 20th.

So this coming Sunday will be the "Christmas party" for my place of employment, just so you can know how messed up that place is. Their Christmas party will be held in the end of February! I went the previous one, which sucked, the only thing that made up for it was the free food and free drinks.
I swear this particular one in Alexandria is the worst one. This time, they almost decided to charge even for the food?? Who will go to it's party if they are going to charge even food? However they will have to charge for drinks, which plain sucks. The other branches, such as the on in Potomac, I hear that their parties kick ass. Always free food, free drinks, and even a lot of nice kick ass prizes, while here in Alexandria, well it's the worst ever.

I need to get my ass together and send out my resumes, but you know how that goes... haha.

Nothing much going on as of late since I went back to the old schedule of a proletariat, which I hate. You know the routine, slave at work and pray that weekend arrives sooner than it seems. How I miss the old days of "bom vivan". Back then I would get quite puzzled when my friends would tell me I'm a "bom vivan", now I know. I'm living on the flip side of the coin, and god it sucks.

However, the work is not as stressing as it was at first, I guess my mind got dull from all the stupidity that comes from dealing with stupid people. Have you ever dealt with a stupid person that thinks they know everything? Even worse, they try to impose they stupid knowledge on you, not a mere difference in paradigm.

One of my coworker once said, "I hate people, I wish most of them were dead from their own stupidity." At first I thought it was too extreme, but I'm somewhat leaning towards that. If you are ignorant, try to learn something from people that actually know, it's good for you! What can be so bad about free information technology 101? Specially if you don't know jack about it.

Which comes to a point of being the "IT Guy". You know, that IT Guy friend that everyone has. For once I wish I could choose, on what IT problem I could work on, because it's IT problem solving for family members, friends, acquaintances, and at work... Me and Sissy was talking about this before, while me, the IT Guy, was setting up her blog counter code and stuff. Have you noticed that in any other profession, is not ok to request frequent work related favors? For example, Steve's father is a doctor. Maybe like once in a while if I ask a health related advice is ok, however if I want to go to a health checkup, the norm says I have to pay for that service, because there is labor involved. For example, it would be ok for me to ask free investment advice from Ricardo, but I would have to pay him his share if I want him to invest my money. Then there is the IT field, me. It's ok for people to ask me advice on what solution would be better for them depending on what are their needs. But that actually turns to on-the-phone troubleshooting, which on a corporate perspective, is called a paid job, such as "Tech support help center". Also, the norm says it's ok to ask the IT Guy to come over and fix their computer problem. Probably having a computer repaired is the least expensive service from those two I mentioned, It would probably cost the person, labor wise, on average $200-$300, while the other two would be a whole lot more, yet the IT Guy, which get paid the least, his labor should go for "free". Now probably people will say, "what a greedy bitch", but hold on to that, because I'm not saying that I will charge people I know for my "services", it just that I fail to grasp this concept on a capitalistic society. Everyone gets paid, except the IT Guy, and maybe some other professions. And probably on the norm it's not ok for the IT Guy charge a person he knows for his services, in fear of being called "greedy bitch", yet other professionals are free to charge for their services, because maybe their services are "worth" more?

If so, go back to damn school, and take some IT classes and do it yourself. The day I think your services should be free, I will go back to school and take classes on frields I need help with.

Once again I should mention about the great line up for FUR. Today it was confirmed that Ferry Corsten will spin at FUR on April 9th, that is the weekend after Armin van Buuren. So let me recap. Feb 19th Sasha, Feb 22nd Tiesto, March 5th Deep Dish, March 12th Donald Glaude, March 19th Markus Schulz, April 2nd Armin van Buuren, April 9th Ferry Corsten and April 16 Danny Howells. That is an impressive line up for the Spring. Will I be able to attend to all these? Probably I could, it's a matter if my friends can keep up to it. Then I have my boss sister coming over to DC, and of course, being the clubbing "guru" at work, I will have to be the host/guide. So I will have to manage the schedule somehow. hehe. I never knew, there was an "Virginia nightlife", at least that is what I hear from my co-workers. But it's to tame for me anyways.

Quote of the day;
Customer: So can you guys do this?
Employee: "word"

Behave kids.

Yeah, it's like Jim, the old mechanic at Rebel who I worked with for a month out in Indiana. He always told me, "thing that sucks about being a mechanic is that all your friends think they get free repairs for their cars"

What's up dude? I thought you were dead.
