I was reading an article from BBC News earlier regarding all these cosmetic surgery craze in South Korea. It claims that 50% of South Korean women in their 20s have had some form of cosmetic surgery. Talk about women without self confidence. Minor imperfections add to the beauty of a person. This goes to say how beauty is perceived differently through the mainstream society. Two friends of my brother, korean girls, recently got cosmetic surgery. My opinion? They still look the same to me. But then again, I never found them attractive to start with. However you have to take in consideration I don't find particulary attracted to asian females to begin with. I don't know, maybe the BBC correspondent, being "westner" find asian women "exotic", which doesn't cut it for me. To me, asians, doesn't look exotic at all, since I'm asian and all.
Here is a quote from the article:
"South Korean women have a reputation as the most striking in Asia."
I guess beauty is on the eye of the beholder, because one average, I find the South Korean women, the least attractive in South East Asia.
"The Korean look, with high cheekbones and sculptured features is all the rage from Shanghai to Singapore."
I don't know what high cheekbones means, but the "all rage from Shanghai to Singapore" is just too funny. hahahaha
"And the men are also shaping up. Korean actors are currently the region's premier heartthrobs."
Yeah, I guess, because K-pop is taking over J-pop. Still don't see what is the big deal. I have a co worker that was predominantly interested in japanese stuff. now he is into the "korean" stuff. So much, that he even started to eat those really spicy korean noodles and watch korean movies.
Anyways, behave kids.
As requested by Dana, "The Mexican" haircut. Or so Misha says...

Man, Sung, you look so skinny in this picture!!!! You look so slim!!!
It is pretty famous here about Korean girls getting plastic surgery done, but I hear that their parents tell the kids to get them done since if they are born ugly they won't find good husbands... The looks I guess, is pretty important over there...
I am amazed. It does look Mexican
Yeah I read that article too. It's also a craze here in Mongolia. Mongolian women in general are very beautiful and in my opinion don't need to have a scalpel touch any part of their body. Most of the cosmetic shit they get done is the change in eyelids. I don't what it's called but ppl basically get folds on their eyelids so that the eyes look bigger or something. It suits very few people and for the rest they look kinda freaky. Also K-pop is big here too. In the evenings all the TV channels airing korean soap operas. Fucking brainwashing.
