Politics, to dating scene, to technology investment, and so forth.

Hmm work yesterday was a breeze since I only had to show up at 5PM, but the previous day I had to do a favor to my boss and work on my day off. The flip side of this hectic schedules changes to accomodate a coworker that is on vacation, I will get the weekend off. So I get to work Friday from 1PM to 9PM and get my pay as well, that means the weekend will be rocking, hopefully if my friends are up for it. No, I won't burn my paycheck on one single weekend. I know my friends worry about my fiscal indiscipline. Most of it will go to pay bills anyways.

I got a free laptop from my brother's girlfriend's friend. The laptop is kind of old, and the battery is dead. She wanted a new computer, so she let me have the broken laptop, which I repaired, and then helped her to choose a new desktop computer using my discounted source. Then I helped her assemble it. The least I can do for her.

The laptop I got is a Gateway Solo 9550, Pentium 3 1.06 GHz, 1GB of RAM, 40GB hardrive, with Geforce 2 Go video. It is "decent", plus I got it for free, so I can't complain. The only bad thing about it is that it does not have a CD burner, although it has a DVD/CD combo. I could buy the DVD/CDRW (burner) combo, which is about $150, so maybe later, not now though. Oh yeah need to buy a battery too...

Steve called me today, he said he might have to go to Baltimore for a business trip, and if he does, he will drop by. It's nothing certain for now. He mentioned about temp work in Florida, and I might take that. Florida might do me wonders. hahaha. Plus if it conincideds with Ultra Music Festival or Winter Music Conference, it would be freaking awesome! If not, then there is always the option to take a day off and chill at Steve's place in Tampa.

Today I got another message, and WOW! For the first time it was a NON asian. I'm kind of creep out about this asian chick sending me like 15 messages, but I checked the "inbox" anyways, and was surprised. I know Karthik kind of bitches at me for dismissing asian girls, but well, each has its own preferences... But Karthik will probably be happy that this time it wasn't and asian girl. hahaha. Her name is Bruna, her message wasn't like those asian girls that were really assertive, but more of a "friendly" type. Let see how this goes.

It was Karthik's birthday today, so dude, Happy birthday! I was "supposed" to RSVP the surprise dinner, and I said I couldn't go due to work schedule. The dinner was around 7PM, but I had to work till 9PM, then "prepare to leave work" took about 30 minutes or so. So I left work at 9:30PM, got home and to get showered and changed, took another 30 minutes. So it was around 10:15PM and although they were going out for drinks after dinner, they were only staying out till 12AM at most. I couldn't leave right away either, because I was expecting a call. Fuck, ok just not even worth going out with so little time. So I called Karthik and told him we would do some crazy shit on the weekend.

Sodo is bitching about me bitching about the blog comments. Look I'm not angry or depressed about the comments, I was just making a statement. Regarding my blog in general, yes, I'm unmotivated to update, not that I'm depressed or mad. Maybe I didn't choose the correct words and it came out harsh, although I still stand behind what I said. Now who is being sensitive? Anyways Sodo had a good update about Edernet City in Mongolia. You guys should check it out. That place is like Antartica, what kind of freaking place gets -37C ?

Sodo mentioned about Front Page news on BBC about Sadaat's father, Askar Akayev, president of Kyrgyzstan. Supposedly there are talks from the opposition to do a "velvet revolution" like the ones in Ukraine and Georgia. Although he is been in power for over a decade and probably had criticism from oppositions, I don't believe opposition members were abducted from the streets and shot dead or anything like that. There is always some kind of power struggle, but compared to other central asian countries, I think Kyrgyzstan is the most democratic country in that area. I also belive that the transition from Soviet communist to full democracy is hard, sometimes a strong person is needed to help with the transition. Direct democracy could actually cause the contry to become rife with corruption. I also hate the fact that opposition always cry foul, and talks about revolution. Yes lets to a "velvet revolution" because the guy got elected. So maybe we should do a "velvet revolution" because Bush won? Get a grip people, these devious power hungry people hidding under the banner of a peaceful revolution for the people. Now I'm don't know Sadaat's father to judge him bad or good, however, the opossition using "velvet revolution" banner for they own politcal power gain, rather than for the people, its just fucking sad. The article also metions that Askar's daugther and son might be running for parliament. Now I wonder if its Sadaat and Ilim. Sadaat has 2 brothers and 1 sister, so I don't know who will be running for parliament. I doubt Ilim would run, since he is too young. Maybe Sadaat though? Here is the article.

On other news, Epson had a breakthrough with their printers. They developed a ink jet technology to print ultra-thin multilayer circuit board. Do you know what it means? You can print a CIRCUIT BOARD! You heard that right, if you are a electronic engineer and you develop a circuit board, you don't to have it make on a electronic assembly plant, you can print right out from your printer. This is very innovative technology, if the "ink" and the "paper" are not too expensive. This would create mass cost reductions, and people would be able to print their own boards at home. For minor circuitry boards, there would be no need to have all the costs associated with manufacturing, labor, storage, transportation, retail sales. Imagine, you need a little chip for your Palm or you MP3 Player or your computer, instead of buying it, you could maybe download the "blueprint" off the internet and print the circuit board yourself at home and start using right away. I'm sure there is room for further development for more complex circuit board. If the prices for the "ink" and "paper" are not exorbitant, I would dump all my money on Epson stocks. I feel this sure about this technology. The only other time I was this sure about a technology was with NVIDIA right before they boomed. I had told Zeca to invest on it when he asked "what is going out in the tech world". He didn't and he still regrets to this day. Since that NVIDIA thing, I have never been sure about any other technology, but I am again with Epson's technology. Like I said, depending on the price, this is revolutionary.

Ok its 3:40AM, time to hit gym.

Behave kids.

The "wedding" singer.

The Akayev family. Ilim and Sadaat on the left side.

I just thought I would post the picture of my "POOR KOREAN BROTHER" and his wife. This is my "other" Korean friend and co woker called Chan, and his wife, Namhee that always buys me lunch. hehehe. They are good people.

Epson's inkjet PRINTED ultra-thin multilayer circuit board!
