You think my camera lens is big? Wait till I put these babies on, it will be twice the size!

So I was searching for telephoto and wide angle converter lens for my camera on the internet. However the original Sony telephoto costs over $250 and wide angle converter lens were a couple of dollars below $200. The maximum magnification of the telephoto lens is 1.7X(higher the number the more zoom) and 0.7X(lower the number the wider the field of view) for the wide angle. So of course I looked for non Sony telephoto and wide angle lens. There are bunch of cheap glass on eBay, that although cheap its just not worth any money. Then I found these lenses from Raynox. These lens are not as good as the original from Sony, but based on many review, the Sony ones are minimally superior to the Raynox. Also have to take into account that Raynox telephoto lens maximum magnification is 2.2X not 1.7X, and with much lower priced, they are great value. The price is just a bit below $200. But god damn, its 2.2X! The Super wide angle lens from Raynox is much cheaper though, it's under $100. A site has it for $69.95, but my priority is the telephoto lens. Raynox super wide angle converter lens has maximum magnification of 0.5X. They also have the fish eye wide angle converter with maximum magnification at 0.27X, but at that point, the view is too curved/spherical(lens barrel distortion) for my taste.

Anyways check it out at their site, "if" you are interested, which I'm sure my none of my friends could care less about cameras accessories or photography in general. HAHAH. Here is the link, Raynox.

I think I mentioned many times when I go through airport security check, I always get shit from them regarding my camera, today I found out it is pretty common with owners of DSC-F717 (my camera). I was on this Sony camera forums, and they have one dedicated for DSC-F707-F717, and the title for it was "Devoted to Sony's flagship 707/717 5 megapixel camera...the "dark angel," the "bazooka," the not-allowed-through-security camera." HAHAH

I can't wait to start to take photography class, but I can't right now, since I might be going to Brazil at the end of the year, and I don't know if I going to move there, so I rather wait till then.

Behave kids.

Raynox DRC-2020PRO 2.2X Telephoto conversion lens.

DRC-2020PRO 2.2X on a DSC-F707.

Check the size of this thing, is about the same size as the camera!

Raynox DCR-500(wide angle converter lens) mounted on DSC-F707.

Raynox DCR-FE180PRO Fish-Eye mounted on a DSC-F707. Check the width of this thing!

Some guy made a homemade "weatherproof" baggie for DSC-F717. He was preparing to take pictures of a hurricane coming to his town...

And there is this girl, custom making an adapter to use the DSC-F717 with her stargazing telescope for lunar and star photography! That's just too awesome!
